Green Day

Weekend

Pretty quiet weekend. I ended up getting strep last week so everyone took it easy this weekend. Sophie was outside with her friends most of Sunday - that night she told me she needed to go to bed because she was so lazy from being outside all day!!

Sophie never really got into the cabinets... but not this guy. You can't leave him alone for too long or you'll have a mess to deal with.

Sophie joined Jake in his crib one morning.

We visited the farm animals at Hills Bank.

Jake vs Grass

Well we brought a blanket outside to see if we could get Jake used to being around grass.

Started off well... got a few smiles with mom.

Then he ventured off zone blanket.


Not happy!


Just can't deal with that grass.

Sophie on the other hand lives outside hanging out with her friends. She also got this awesome birthday poster signed by all her preschool friends.

Sophie's 5

Holy Cow - Sophie is Five! Where have the last 5 years gone. Still remember every detail of the day she was born and every sleep deprived moment after.

This was Sophie's first birthday cake of the weekend.

She was a little embarrassed when we sang to her.

One of her presents was a new microphone.

She tested that out right away.

Actually everyone had to try it. After I was done she said - that's not so good. Tough crowd!

Sophie picked where we went for dinner. She said she wanted to go to the place that had peanuts and bread. So off to Texas Roadhouse we went.

She got a new Build-a-Bear.

The next day was her friend birthday party at gymnastics. And cake number 2!

Spring Break - Day 3

Well day 3 of Spring Break started off very exciting!

I ran into the Iowa Mens Basketball Coach at Brueggers. I don't think I could have called Mike any faster I was so excited. Let me tell you - that is one tall man!

Sophie opened her first birthday present from Aunt Sue and Uncle Gene. Hard to tell if we're Hawkeye Fans around here!

I think someone was excited.

Jake tried cornbread for the first time and made a mess.

Sophie decided to use my make-up. She put it on, looked at herself in the mirror, and wanted to take it off right away. She wasn't too impressed with her skills!

Jake is not a huge fan of the outdoors yet. I put him down in the grass the other day and you would have thought I was ripping his arm off he cried so hard. Mike tried the swing today. Not loving it as you can see from the picture.

Sophie started off the morning at gymnastics camp with her bestie Emerson.

Then the fam met me for lunch. Yum!
